Time to speak out on mixing oil and water

by Wayne Mumford July 6, 2011

While state agencies and Exxon both seemed a little slow moving on the Yellowstone river oil spill, Governor Brian Schweitzer was out to have a look around today. Not one to miss a chance at raising the battle cry the governor was making sure that Exxon wasn’t painting to rosy of a picture. Exxon itself [...]

What’s an oil pipeline doing under a river?

by Wayne Mumford July 4, 2011

That was the first thought that came to my mind when I heard that Exxon’s pipeline blew a few thousand gallons of crude oil into the Yellowstone. Of course there’s going to be some ass chewing and finger pointing and Exxon will throw some money around and in the end will get a little smack [...]

A Ride in the Fall

by Wayne Mumford October 11, 2010

I had every intention to go fishing this past weekend but got sideswiped by technical web duty, chores that I couldn’t bury deep enough to get away from and finally today, the wind. Someone uttered the “W” word somewhere. It’s frustrating because I can feel the fair weather fishing window closing and another fall winding [...]

Turns out the water has been cooler but clarity was pretty good. There were still some fish finishing up spawning unfortunately one familiar area was so choked with Millfoil (Myriophyllum [...]

More Bass

by Wayne Mumford June 17, 2010

Monday was nice. Ever since then it has been pouring. Last week up until Friday- it was pouring. It’s starting to look like like Jurassic Park in some places. At least most of the weekend was nice. If you are a river fishing trout purist you might as well stay at home and tie your [...]
