Brown trout, Montana

Getting spring off to a decent start

What is normal weather, normal snow pack in Montana? Anywhere for that matter. Is it a 30 year average? A 200 year average? Do we trust the woodchuck? How about what you see is what you get?

Here’s the current snow pack report. Just for fun I went back to a post from about this time last year and stuck it in here just for a comparison. So far the only eye popper is the Wyoming rivers. Should be enough water to go around on the Bighorn this year? We are getting out to the end of the “normal” snow fall season but you just never know around here. A couple good shots of weather in the next couple weeks and we could pass last year- and I didn’t hear any complaints about last year. One thing for sure is that this winter was pretty mild in terms of temperatures. What does that mean? I don’t know, ask the weatherman.
