Gold Drilling on Rock Creek

Montana's Rock Creek

Upper Rock Creek, Montana

Just picked up on this, I’m sure we’ll hear more soon. Atlanta based Dutch Gold Resources, Inc. is having ideas about drilling a test hole on Rock Creek where tests show it may contain a large vein of gold and silver. While the company announced it’s plans to drill, it still hasn’t posted a $10k reclamation bond with the Montana DEQ.

Rock Creek as most of you know is a well known fishery between Missoula and Phillipsburg, Montana. Just what we need, another fly-by-night mining company gold digging on the headwaters of a great trout stream.

I am a geologist and a fly fisherman and I would be utterly embarrassed to dig for gold right there. I think in the long term we will be poorer and not richer if we do that. We should preserve those areas the habitat of which is globally much more valuable than gold, also for the economics gravitating around the wilderness, fishing, tourism. For what I know, there is a clear unbalance between the short-term usefulness versus the long term impact. A no-vote for the the Gold company …

A quick update… They paid the bond and got the test drilling permit. http://missoulian.com/news/state-and-regional/article_7f473e9e-38bf-11e0-a9eb-001cc4c03286.html

This appears to be the real deal and is very worth a call to arms… Much more so than the farce of a “ditch bill” that just passed the house. Dutch Gold has a history of shady dealing and a sordid past of ownership transfers to avoid reclamation. The kicker is that there are rumors floating around that they plan a full scale, highly funded assault on the cyanide leech mining ban in the same time frame as mine development. Please rally the troops! Rock Creek… Far More Precious Than Gold!!!

Mike,
Absolutely. When you see the numbers from the Missoulian article, “an estimated volume of 7.6 million ounces of gold in the “discovery block,” more than a third of it high-grade ore”, you know that means trouble. You can bet they’re licking their chops and can’t get in there soon enough. Real deal is right.

Again the foolishness and the ambition without measurement of the few men will destroy the heritage of all the people.
Its the “very short time” sight (almost blind),the humans don’t learn from our past.
Its absolutely more valuable the complete environment of the Rock Creek than a few tons of gold (in the best case).
I travel more than 5000 miles every year for fly fishing in the Rock Creek area, and like me many people spend a lot of money there.
This Sunday morning new really depress me.

Antonio,
No one wanted to hear this but it’s real, stay tuned we will all be trying to find out who to get to and try to get this thing off the radar. It will take every resource to stop men who go under the power of gold.
