Even though the weather seems to be flaking out the grasshoppers around here right now, the various grasshopper patterns are always a hot ticket on the water during late summer and fall.
I visited today with a guy from Fernie, B.C. and he said that the usual hopper frenzy was not happening, small drys- already. He did say that the Elk River was fishing good- of course. Weird weather and different bug activity aside, you gotta have hoppers in the box this time of year.
