British Anglers Mourn the passing of Two Tone

by Wayne Mumford on August 17, 2010

Sunday will be a national day of mourning for British anglers who will mark the passing of Two Tone, the Mirror Carp. Two Tone, nicknamed “the marriage wrecker” was the highly sought prize of fishermen at Conningbrook Lake in Kent, south-east of London for years and was caught several times. Two Tone was found belly up floating on the lake apparently dead from old age.

Two Tone, Britains record Carp

Would you trade your wife for Two Tone?

The fish topped the scale in 2001 at 67lbs., which was a record. He was around 45 years old. To put that in perspective I was probably in kindergarten when he was a young minnow himself.

A fitting end for a legendary very big old fish. I guess the local marriage counselors are going to have find a new beat with ol’ Two Tone out of the lineup.
