April 21, 2010 Montana snow pack report

by Wayne Mumford on April 21, 2010

Heat wave. Monday through today’s high- 80°F! Seeing the snow recede is like watching an sno-cone melting.  Problem is, there is not much to melt in these parts. It is suppose to cool back down into the 50′s toward Thursday so that should slow things down a bit.

I hate to say it, I could almost slap myself but- we need more snow pack or at least some spring rain or it’s going to get crispy pretty quick. The amateur grass burners are already providing lots of pyrotechnical displays.  But this is Montana, we could be under a foot of snow this time next week or anytime between now and the middle of June so there is still plenty of time to “just ad water”.
