Fish Bum Vol. II Metalhead, Fly Fishing School for Kids
by Wayne Mumford on March 4, 2010

An interesting looking package landed in my mailbox a couple days ago, a review copy of AEG (Trout Bum Diaries), FISH BUM VOLUME II, Metalhead. Thanks guys for sending that up. I will give it a gander here and report back ASAP. That covers kinda scary.
I’m hoping for some furious fishing footage on the open waters of the northwest. A few months of hard water makes one a little twitchy, doing weird things in the kitchen sink.

Wyoming Tribune-Eagle outdoor editor Shauna Stephenson hits it on the head in recent article when she says she gets “fed up with all the talk about standardized testing in schools, mainly because I feel the proponents are forgetting about an important part of education – namely that education is also about quality of life”.
In Wyoming there’s a move afoot to get fly fishing into the classroom at the 6-12 K level with the help of the
National Fly Fishing in Schools Program. The curriculum meets four different National Academic Standards: language arts, physical education, science and technology.
Read Shauna’s article. We need more educational programs for kids like this.
After we get that in for the kids maybe we can get some continuing education credits in for us adults?
