Petitions are kind of old fashion, an abacus tally of populous decent with a personal touch. The actual voice of the republic speaking their mind kind of thing. It’s personally putting your name on the list and telling them your are right here at this address and if you have the balls to contact me personally I’ll tell you just how pissed off I am. It’s the common folks trump card when politicians, corporate lawyers and money are making decisions that are not necessarily in our best interest. Like turning the Asian Carp loose on the Great Lake fisheries.
One thing pols look at is numbers, especially the numbers of dissenting constituents. Popular=good, not popular=bad. The petition to keep the Asian Carp out of the Great Lakes, sign it here. Start building up some good fishing karma, springs coming soon!
