While picking up some new ice auger blades at Snappy’s Sports Center in Kalispell I was offered a copy of the Blackfeet lakes stocking report for 2009. It is a scoop of sorts as a little research shows our government fish and wildlife agencies probably won’t be updating last years information for at least another six months or so. Glad someones on the ball.

Note the size of the fish that Creston Hatchery is dumping in the lakes. A good portion of the reservation lakes are supported by shrimp, the ones that are grow big fish fast. Like by ice out they will be worthy of a hook and by next fall they should be well on their way to becoming Ohio class rainbows.
