Quick Tye Line Threader

by Wayne Mumford on November 13, 2008

The first of the Christmas gift catalogs showed up today. Among all the clothing and electronics stuff was a cover with a Rainbow Trout print on it, strategically placed for someone like myself who would walk barefoot over burning coals to find out what could be inside. Turns out it was the latest Rogue Angler catalog.

I have pretty much gotten over the knick-knack gadgetry fetish that people seem get caught up in when they embark on new endeavors like fishing, hunting, photography, backpacking and the like. Practical needs eventually prevail unless you have an unlimited supply of cash and storage space of which I unfortunately have neither.

Quick Tye line threaderAnyway, as I was perusing the pages one thing caught my eye, mostly because it had to do with just that- my eyes. It was the “Quick Tye” line threader. It “makes 40+ year old eyes young again!”. Amen, I past that mark a ways back. I’ve looked at a lot of these line threaders and still have not bought one but I may spring for this one because it appears to be about as simple and unobtrusive as it can get. And if there is anything in my fishing repertoire that needs speeding up and simplification, it’s knot tying.

This is a great product! I just can’t believe no one thought of it before. If you want to tie lines quicker than you ever have before, this is the way to do it!
